Born of the Water
Once we have repented we have died and we must now be buried in baptism with Christ.
6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
6:5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Many churches tell people that we don’t need to be baptized today, but NOT ONE scripture in the Bible says that we must NOT be baptized. People assume rather than search in the scriptures to see what is required.
Look what Jesus told His disciples:
16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. Mark 16:15-16
> If you want MORE of Jesus Christ in your life you must be baptized in water in His Name. It is not enough only to believe, you must be baptized also. Completely submerged or buried in his name so that His Name will wash away all your sins.
Ananias told Saul (Apostle Paul):
And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord. Acts 22:16
> Even Jesus was baptized also, don’t tell me we don’t. Are we better than Paul and Jesus?
Many people believe we can be saved like the thief in the cross, but at that moment that Jesus forgave that man the world was still UNDER the Old Testament Covenant.
The book of Hebrews explains it like this:
9:15 And for this cause He (Jesus) is the Mediator of the new covenant, so that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first covenant, those who are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
9:16 For where a covenant is, the death of him covenanting must be offered.
9:17 For a covenant is affirmed over those dead, since it never has force when The one covenanting is living.
9:18 From which we see that neither was the first covenant dedicated without blood. Hebrews 9:15-18 MKJV
The thief on the cross was saved under the Old Covenant but we are living in the New Covenant which was sealed by the blood of Jesus Christ.
Hebrew 9:16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. KJV
The New Covenant requires us to be BORN AGAIN OF THE WATER AND SPIRIT.
> Each and every one of us must repent and be baptized.
> But we must all be baptized IN THE NAME OF JESUS.
In order to be born of the water in baptism we must be baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ.
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Jesus instructed his disciples to make disciples and baptize them in a particular name.
Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost…
Father, son and Holy Ghost are NOT a name, these are titles. The ONLY name given to humanity in order to obtain salvation is the name of Jesus Christ.
Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
> Everyone in the New Testament church was baptized in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
> Not one person was baptized in the titles: Father, Son and Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit.
> When you are baptized in The Name of the Lord Jesus Christ you apply the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ to your life and all yours sins are washed away.
> You are also identified with Christ forever. You become his temple, where HIS Name dwells.
This is a fulfillment of the dedication of the temple that Solomon built.
1Kings 9:2 That the LORD appeared to Solomon the second time, as he had appeared unto him at Gibeon.
1Kings 9:3 And the LORD said unto him, I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication, that thou hast made before me: I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there forever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.
In the book of Acts the New Testament Church began when the Holy Ghost fell on the believers. The people that saw and heard what happened were astonished and when Peter preached great conviction fell on them.
Then they asked Peter what shall they do in order to be saved and Peter who had the Keys of The Kingdom showed them the way when he said:
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38
Peter told them that they must repent (DIE), then they must be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ (Born of the Water) and they will receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (Born of the Spirit).
This is the original way to be saved or born again and it is also the only way to be saved. The original message is still the only message.
Everyone in the New Testament was born again the same way. Read Acts 19:1-7, Acts 8 and Acts 10.
